Online pre-check

To carry out an initial assessment for installing the wallbox, we ask you questions about the spatial conditions and electricity supply when you use the online pre-check. You can save the results of your online pre-check and view them under “My Account” when you have logged in with your ŠKODA user account (see paragraph below). If you do not have an account yet, you need to register for a ŠKODA user account or otherwise you will not be able to save the results of your online pre-check.

It serves as a central user account in which you can manage your data centrally. To register, you need your email address and a password of your choice.

Please observe the detailed privacy policy of ŠKODA AUTO that applies to the ŠKODA ID. You can view this at https://skodaid.vwgroup.io/data-privacy.

Alternatively, you can order as a guest. If you choose this ordering option, you do not have to register before ordering, but we will collect and process your data required for ordering as a guest (name, address, email address and telephone number).

Ordering with support from dealer

During the ordering process, your trade/service partner will also be happy to support you. Based on your wishes and requirements, your trade/service partner will put together a shopping basket for you. Once the shopping cart has been put together, your trade/service partner can provide you with the shopping cart composition by e-mail. After clicking on the link in the e-mail, you can accept or edit the shopping basket. You can place the order as a guest or via your ŠKODA ID user account. A prerequisite for this is that your e-mail address is passed on to the trade/service partner. We have no influence or access to this data processing, it is carried out under our own responsibility by the respective trade/service partner and without us being able to view your personal data. At the request of the trade/service partner, we will provide him/her with the date of your order, the content and an identification number generated when the shopping basket was created for the purpose of tracking the settlement of commission payments.

Managing and cancelling your order

When ordering with a Škoda user account you can view, manage and cancel your orders under “My Account”. To do this, you can retrieve the corresponding order under “My Orders”. Data processing for payment purposes

For the purpose of processing the payment methods offered in this web shop (e.g. credit card), we use Adyen BV, Simon Carmiggelstraat 6–50, 1011 DJ Amsterdam, Netherlands as a payment service provider. Your payment data (e.g. credit card data) and other personal data (e.g. invoice address) may be transferred to both providers as part of the payment process, insofar as these are necessary for processing the payment. Start-up and configuration of the wallbox

When you purchase your ŠKODA iV Charger, you can choose between models with Wi-Fi connection or LTE mobile phone standard. To ensure that your ŠKODA iV Charger is capable of communicating and is up to date (including Wi-Fi connection or LTE mobile phone standard), the charger will at regular intervals transfer the following encrypted device-specific data to the IT systems of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH, where it will be processed: device identification, brand, generation, device type and software version.

If you want to use additional online services (control and analysis of charging cycles) in connection with your ŠKODA iV Charger, the charger needs to be linked to your existing ŠKODA user account. In the context of using the online services, the following personal and other device-specific data is transferred to the IT systems of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH and processed there: customer identification, statistics, charging history information, status, connection status and time stamp of the last communication connection.

Alternatively, you can also select a device without connectivity functions. If you decide in favour of this variant of the ŠKODA iV Charger, no data will be transmitted to the IT systems of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH.

IV. Declaration of consent to use of data for advertising

If you would like to receive information about our products, you can authorise the corresponding advertising. For this purpose, the following data is processed in order to send you advertising within the scope of the consent to be given by you (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR): surname, first name, email address and telephone number.

You may withdraw the consent you gave to Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH at any time, free of charge, and with future effect. Please refer to the “Your Rights” section of this privacy policy for more information on asserting your rights.

Once you have withdrawn your consent, your personal data will be deleted, unless other retention periods (e.g. tax retention periods) prevent this.

C. Use of cookies and tracking tools

Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH uses various cookies on its websites. Cookies are small files with configuration information, which are stored on your terminal device. Cookies can be divided into three categories. There are cookies which are essential to the functionality of the website (function cookies), cookies which increase the convenience of using the website and, for example, save your language settings (convenience cookies) and cookies used to create a pseudonymous user profile (tracking cookies).

The processing of function cookies is necessary to enable you to visit the website (see Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

The legal basis for convenience cookies is a legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Providing convenience when visiting the website is a legitimate interest.

Tracking Cookies are only set if the website visitor has given their consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Consent must be given by using the cookie banner, which must be actively clicked on.

You can find an overview of the cookies currently used at: https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse and improve our website based on your user behaviour. The legal basis for this data processing is Article 6 (1) (1) (f) GDPR. Google may transfer the data in this context to a server in the USA for evaluation and save it there. In the event that personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has committed itself to the EU-US Privacy Shield. However, your IP address is truncated by Google Analytics before evaluating the usage statistics so that no conclusions can be made about your identity. To this end, Google Analytics on our website has been expanded to include the code “anonymized” in order to guarantee anonymised recording of IP addresses. In Google Analytics, Google will process the information gained from cookies in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities for the website operator and to provide further services related to website use and Internet use. If you are using a Google account, Google can link your web and app browser history from Google to your Google account, depending on the settings stored in your Google account, and use information from your Google account to personalise ads. If you do not want your Google account to be linked in this way, you need to log out of Google before accessing our website. If you have activated personalised advertising in your Google account, Google can use your website behaviour to create data models and reports that show, for example, on which device you first clicked on an ad and on which device you might have carried out a purchase. These data models and reports are based on spot checks that are pseudonymised to the point of anonymity, and from which we cannot draw conclusions about an individual Google user.

Great - it looks like it is feasible to install a ŠKODA iV Charger at your home.

Get ready for the next step in your electrifying future and finalize your configuration.

Configure and purchase your ŠKODA iV Charger

Thank you for providing your details.

There might be some challenges for installing a ŠKODA iV Charger at your home. But don’t worry, we will do our best to find a solution for you! Below you will find our detailed suggestions, please refer to the one that best reflects your answer.

Challenge 1:

It is not allowed to mount a private charge in an off-street parking space in the Republic of Ireland.

How to proceed:

We recommend to check again the possibilities to install the charger in another place. For further information and advice, please contact our customer support.

Challenge 2:

If you are not the owner of the property or do not have the consent of your landlord to carry out the installation then an installation will not be possible.

How to proceed:

Please gain permission before continuing with the purchase.

Challenge 3:

Local conditions are unclear and it may appear that the charger can’t be fitted on a wall, e.g. there is no straight wall measuring at least 30 cm wide, in the vicinity of your vehicle to attach the charger to.

How to proceed:

Usually, the charger needs to be mounted to a wall or a similar surface, which is stable enough to hold a wallbox. In case there’s nothing like this close to your parking spot, our local installation partner will try to recommend a suitable alternative, although this mean the installation falls outside our standard installation package. We recommend to continue with the order and clarify details during the home check with our installation partner. You may cancel the order if any costs exceed your expectations.

For further information and advice, please contact our customer support.
